• In 1979, Germain Bélanger received the Canplast Award for his exceptional leadership and continued contribution to the Canadian Plastics Industry (SPI).
  • In 1986, the St-Jérôme CEGEP named an entire pavilion after Germain Bélanger, to honour him for developing a college level program leading to a specialized diploma in the Transformation of Composite Materials. The Germain-Bélanger Pavilion is now dedicated to training qualified technicians in the field of composite materials at the St-Jérôme CEGEP.

  • In 1993, Germain Bélanger was invited to serve on the National Advisory Panel on Advanced Industrial Materials for the Department of Industry, Science and Technology of Canada.

  • In 1995, he was part of the Canadian group of delegates representing the Polymers Sector at The First Trilateral Materials Workshop following the adoption of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) (Canada – Mexico – United States).
